There have been a lot of basketball players who have been put in the Guinness Book of World Records for their amazing basketball skills.  Below is Wilt Chamberlain.  He is famous for the number of points he scored and is in the Guinness Book of World Records several times.

These are some of the World Records that were set by famous NBA players:

Highest Basketball Slam Dunk: Micheal "Wild Thing" Wilson, of the Harlem Globetrotters, dunked a ball through a 12 ft. goal.
 
Highest Scoring Average in an NBA Season:  In the 1961/62 season, Wilt Chamberlain had an average of 50.4 points per game.
 
Longest Time to Spin a Basketball on One Finger:  Zhao Guang, of China, maintained the spin of a basketball on his finger for 3 hours and 59 minutes.
 
Most Free Throws in an NBA Game:  Wilt Chamberlain scored a record 28 free throws for the Philadelphia '76ers on January 5th, 1984.

Most Points in an NBA Game:  The most points scored, by one individual, in an NBA game is 100, by Wilt Chamberlain.

Tallest NBA Player:  Romanian-born Gheorghe Muresan of the Washingotn Bullets, was 7 ft. and 7 in. tall.
 
Youngest NBA Player to Start a Game:  Los Angeles Lakers' guard, Kobe Bryant, made his official NBA debut at just 18 years old.
